How to insert non-YouTube videos into Google Slides

    1. Find the mp4 file you want to include in your slide in your Google Drive.
    2. Take a screenshot of the video to serve as a hyperlink placeholder to your mp4 file.
    3. Go back to Google Slides, and find the slide you want to add the video link to.
    4. Insert the screenshot you just took.
    5. Downsize the screenshot as you see fit for your slide.
    6. Select the screenshot and insert the hyperlink.
    7. You can do this with CTRL + K (on a PC) or Command + K (on a Mac).
    8. Paste the shareable link of the mp4 file in Google Drive.
    9. Click Apply once you’ve pasted your link.
    10. Now, your image is hyperlinked to take the user to the video located in Drive.

Use your mouse as a laser pointer in Google Slides

    1. In Google Slides, click on the "Present" button in the top right corner and launch your presentation
    2. Click on the laser pointer icon (to right of "Presenter view") at the bottom of your screen
    3. Your mouse's cursor is transformed into a laser pointer
